Dr. Andler uses only resin and porcelain fillings for his patients. Not only do these restorations look natural and blend in with the appearance of the tooth, but they also help to re-build the tooth and seal off bacteria from entering back into the tooth. There is less tooth preparation needed with composite fillings, making them minimally invasive compared to traditional metal fillings. Metal fillings also have disadvantages such as leaky margins, risk of cracking tooth enamel, and more tooth preparation. Tooth-colored composite fillings can be placed in areas of new decay, or used to replace aging metal fillings for a more natural appearance.
